In this live nest cam clip from the University of Florida, three day-old barn owl nestlings are gently fed tiny pieces of food by their mother inside the nest box. At this earliest stage, chicks are unable to swallow large prey and rely entirely on precise, careful feeding. These first meals are critical for stabilizing energy levels and supporting survival during the most vulnerable period of life.
This video is meant to document the lives of wild animals so that we can learn more for both educational & research purposes and serve as an aid for the species conservation effort. We do not set up, stage, or intervene but only document the lives of wild animals.

🔬 What does this mean? (Quick science note)
Newly hatched barn owl nestlings require very small food portions. Gentle tearing and controlled feeding by the mother reduces choking risk and ensures proper digestion during the first critical days.
