Paws of War recently embarked on a 3,450 mile 72-hour rescue mission where they rescued over 40 dogs from three puppy mills in Ohio. The dogs were found in heartbreaking condition as a result of years of neglect and abuse. Most of the dogs suffered from untreated injuries, chronic illnesses, broken ribs, cracked teeth from trauma, mammary tumors, painful urinary tract infections, respiratory infections and wounds caused by severe overcrowding and overbreeding.

Niki Dawson and the team worked around the clock to get the dogs cleaned up, evaluated, fed and resting in a comfortable bed. Some of the dogs recently arrived at Paws of War HQ in Nesconset where they are receiving medical treatment. The dogs will be cared for and soon will be available for adoption to veterans and first responders.
