Golden, juicy meatballs smothered in a silky homemade gravy. This cozy Scandinavian classic is rich, flavorful, and perfect for a hearty dinner.
Sauce Packet: 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour, 1 Tbsp. cornstarch, 1 1/2 tsp. beef bouillon powder, 1 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp. dried parsley, 1/4 tsp. allspice, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, and 1/4 tsp. black pepper.
Meatballs: 2 lbs. ground beef, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup dried minced onion, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. black pepper.
Cook the meatballs first and then remove them from the pan before mixing the sauce.
In the same pan, combine 1 1/2 cups of water, 1/2 cup of milk, and the seasoning packet. Stir and heat until thickened. Add in 1/4 cup sour cream. Stir in the meatballs and heat through. Serve over rice, noodles, or potatoes.
