Last month I was lucky enough to witness the traditional puffin rescue, which is taking place during the summer months on the island of Heimaey. During the night the small Pufflings are confused by the lights of the town and instead of heading to the sea they end up in people's gardens. The locals are collecting regularly the lost birds, so that they can release them towards the ocean the following day. Really nice thing to witness!
