Since teaching via zoom, I have had to get creative with how to share sound goals. I have been doing a lot of recording examples for scales, arpeggios, pieces and now etudes.
Kreutzer Etude #19:
This etude has lots of trills, just like #18, but the mood of this one is overwhelmingly sweet and soothing with only a few "darker" moments. The hardest part is intonation in higher positions (I do not shift on the scale downs unless it was indicated to do so), and finding true half steps and whole steps in the scale passages. Also, I found myself often missing key signature accidentals! Shame, shame! I believe the accents to be subtle, maintaining the overall sweet mood. In fact, in the recap, I avoid making much of the accents at all.
