🐣🍼 🧠Baby Brain Coral Larva in search for a home 🏠

Описание: When Brain Corals reproduce at sunset, they release egg & sperm bundles that float to the surface and break apart and fertilize. The fertilized egg turns into a larva, which then searches the reef for a perfect spot to settle on.

It starts to form a calcium skeleton and tentacles. Hopefully it will grow in to a big and impressive healthy Brain Coral and be the home and shelter for many marine species in the future.

Giving coral reefs a future is Secore International's main goal. So every sexually reproduced and healthy settled little baby coral is a little hope for the reefs of our planet.

This was shot in the lab the Carmabi Marine research Station on Curacao during the Brain Coral spawning season.
