Hammond Organ Studio Recording Test: Mini Vent (Neo Ventilator) vs. Miced Leslie

. I compare recording a Hammond A100 (same as B3, C3) direct into a Neo Ventilator into a recording interface, to the same A100 into a Leslie 44W (similar to 21H, 22H, 45, 46W, 47, 122, 142, 145, 147, etc) miked with a stereo pair of AKG condenser mics.

I play exactly the same thing recorded both ways. The video goes back and forth between the two recordings. I do not give any indication as to when you are hearing the Leslie Speaker and when you are hearing the Ventilator.

I primarily play gospel but I try to incorporate some elements of jazz, funk, and blues as well. I demonstrate a range of drawbar settings, with and without C3 chorus/vibrato, I play both manuals and pedals. I push the organ at full volume and play it quietly. Hopefully this video covers the full range of tones.
