Vice President JD Vance and an American delegation are visiting Greenland on Friday — but people from the country have already been protesting the trip. This comes after President Donald Trump has repeatedly said he wants the United States to acquire Greenland.
Former Denmark ambassador Rufus Gifford, who served under President Obama, says with this kind of rhetoric, you can't blame the Greenlanders for "rising up and saying no."
"It's depressing to me to watch the way the Trump administration talks about our alliances," Gifford said.
