About the piece:
The first work of the fifteen-year-old Astrinidis may not be stage music,
as his interest in music grew, a performance of Rigoletto in his hometown
left him wanting to compose an opera himself, but it has a programmatic character.
This means that the music accompanies a story. In this case the story of King Simoun
Simoun is one of the many Arabic names for the deadly windstorms of the desert.
In the work the windstorm finds its voice through King Simoun
who is tyrannical and quick to anger. His destructive rage is given through a narration
like the fairytales of Scherezade in One Thousand and One Nights
