It’s 1983 all over again—only this time, the world might hear it. But here’s the kicker: buried in the reverb, shared DNA pulses. Same session drummer—“Crash” Lou Ciccone—who banged the kit for Velvet Diamond’s "Wrong Song"    • Velvet Diamond - 'Wrong Song' (80's Classi...   three months earlier in the same rat-hole studio. Same cursed mantra scrawled on the control room wall: “Play it wrong ‘til it’s right.” Same engineer (Barker), same blown speakers, same greasy diner in Hamtramck where both bands scarfed chili after midnight load-ins. Martin swore he dreamt "Wrong Song" before hearing it—visions of smudged mascara, feedback howling through abandoned factories in Lansing. Velvet Diamond opened for him in ’84 at The Rattle Trap in Kalamazoo, didn’t speak for years, then reunited briefly to track bass on the re-mix. Coincidence? Nah. It’s the Detroit curse: once the riff owns you, it never lets go. These aren’t just lost tapes—they’re confessions. Polished but not tamed. Soul stitched into distortion. "Tattoo of You" and "Wrong Song" aren’t siblings. They’re twisted twins, born from the same rusted womb.
