Описание: During his kepynote at Future Fest 2023, Aftab Rana spoke about the opportunities and challenges faced by the tourism industry in Pakistan. He also highlighted Pakistan's potential for tourism, considering the diversity of culture, the geography and the history of the region.

Mr. Aftab Ur Rehman Rana has more than 36 year experience in tourism and hospitality sector of Pakistan. Presently, he is serving as the Managing Director of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation. He is also President of Sustainable Tourism Foundation Pakistan and Vice President of Adventure Foundation Pakistan.

Mr. Rana has done Executive MBA in Tourism and Hotel Management and has attended a number of national and international training courses on Tourism Management, Ecotourism, Adventure Tourism and sustainable development of tourism. He has also completed two years comprehensive training program of LEAD International on leadership for environment and sustainable development and is now a Fellow of LEAD International. He is also an acclaimed motivational speaker and trainer in the field of tourism and has attended a number of national and international conferences as a guest speaker.

He has worked with public, private and non-governmental sectors and has done pioneering work for the promotion of Ecotourism, responsible and sustainable tourism in Pakistan. He has extensively traveled throughout the country and abroad and has vast experience of tourism product development, destination development, tourism human resource development, tourism planning, policy formulation, marketing and promotion. He has also worked as a tourism development consultant with USAID, Asian Development Bank, World Bank and other international develop organizations on the projects of tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

He writes regularly on tourist places of Pakistan and about issues of tourism industry. His articles on tourism have been published in leading newspapers and tourism magazines. He has also contributed three travel guide books on Kaghan Valley, Swat Valley and Chitral Valley.

His efforts for the promotion of tourism have been acknowledged internationally and nationally and he has received a number of awards including Commonwealth Asia Award for Excellence.
