After seeing everyone get so crazy about Pokémon Go this summer, I was fondly reminded of growing up with the original Pokémon games for Gameboy, and watching the anime on Saturday morning kid's TV. This theme tune got stuck in my head so bad when I was a kid that I could remember all the words without even trying...that and the Team Rocket speech. Erm. Anyway! Last year some very cool friends of mine asked me to play this as they departed their wedding ceremony, and I thought, yeah, let's do this! So I did. Hope you like it.

This arrangement was totally nuts to get right, for a start it goes really fast, and for the verse it really needed that sense of drive and repeated notes all the way through, which gets more difficult the faster you have to do it - to give the impression of this I'm using bisbigliando (fast repeated notes or chords with alternating hands) and well as single repeated notes. My favourite thing about this is definitely the chorus though, they're just great chords and I get to use my favourite note on the harp, the low D string (which also features famously in my J.S. Bach Toccata and Fugue arrangement!). I LOVE BASS.

There is also a new mic in play for the audio on this - the Spirit by Aston Microphones. If you are interested in recording I strongly recommend checking out their gear. I've really enjoyed using it so far for the harp but it is great for vocals and other things too.
