In this video, I build a trombone loop into the exhaust system of my 2025 Ford Ranger Raptor.

This idea comes straight from the Gen 3 F-150 Raptor, where Ford added a loop in the exhaust to equalize pipe length. Equal-length exhaust helps smooth out exhaust pulses, which results in a deeper, more refined tone. A company made a similar loop for the Gen 2 F-150 Raptor — but nothing existed for the Ranger Raptor… so I decided to build one.

In the video, I walk through parts of the process including:
• Removing sections of the stock exhaust
• Cutting and grinding to ensure proper fitment
• Welding the loop
• Final installation
• Sound clips at the end

Build Details

To create the loop, I added 600 mm (roughly 24 inches) of additional exhaust piping.
I used 2.5-inch pre-bent exhaust tubing with a 3.75-inch radius, using two 180° bends to form the loop.

Important note:
No mufflers or resonators were removed. This mod does not make the exhaust louder — it improves the tone and smoothness. It’s subtle on camera, but in person, the difference is noticeable and much more refined.
