In an 8086 microprocessor, the LAHF (Load AH from Flags) instruction copies the lower 8 bits of the flag register into the AH register, which contains condition code flags like carry, parity, auxiliary carry, zero, and sign flags. This instruction doesn't require any operands and is useful for examining and modifying flag values, as the complementary SAHF (Store AH to Flags) instruction can then write the contents of AH back into the flag register
