This Quest 3 Was Packed In Spray Foam… And It’s A Disaster

Every once in a while a headset shows up on our repair bench that makes the whole team stop and stare. This Quest 3 was shipped to us packed in spray foam insulation, and the results were a complete mess.

On top of the foam, the controllers had a cracked shell and broken trigger, the glass panel was shattered, and the speaker arm had snapped clean off. What should have been a normal repair turned into one of the most brutal, time-consuming fixes we’ve done yet.

In this video, I walk through the full repair process: cleaning off the hardened foam, chiseling away at the controllers, replacing damaged parts, and finally getting the headset back into clean, working condition.
