The Marconi Wireless Station Site in South Wellfleet, Massachusetts, was the first transatlantic wireless communication station in the United States. Built between 1901 and 1902, it became operational on January 18, 1903. This station played a vital role during significant events, including the rescue operations following the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912. It was shut down in 1917 due to World War I concerns and erosion threats. Although the site has since eroded significantly, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore today.
