How to grow Epidendrum centropetalum, a fabulous cool growing Epidendrum species.

A true confession Plant Lovers! I'm NOT a Lover of Epidendrum ibaguense, or the Crucifix Orchid! They are extremely common here in Australia, you can grow them in gardens even as far south as me here in Melbourne, and their straggling tall habit make them a bit of handful to manage, particularly in pots! So imagine my delight on finding this species Epidendrum centropetalum which has a much shorter growth habit and wonderfully shaped mauve flowers in late winter! From Central America and reasonably high elevations it can take cool winter night time temperatures - but I'm not game to risk mine outside all year - so inside it is! In this video I'll look at the general care of this plant as mine is now two years old and in its second flowering cycle.
The nursery I bought from is this one: https://www.rosellaorchids.com.au/ they don't list it anymore but perhaps worth an email if you're interested! And for those of you outside of Australia, local growers can't ship internationally unfortunately.
