Food Aversion After an Illness

GB seems to be feeling better since the 💩👻, but his GI issue led to an aversion to certain foods. Either his tummy is still upset, or he now associates certain foods with his recent illness. This is pretty common in cats, and many of the kittens who’ve had GI issues have gone through something similar. I usually offer something completely new or very bland just to get them eating again.
With GB, he won’t eat anything wet, including Churu. He loved Churu before—he would bite through the plastic lid trying to get to the tubes if I let him. It’s pretty sad to see him turn Churu down.
I found a few ways to get him to eat chicken. If I toss it like I do when we play catch, he’ll eat it. If I just put it on a surface, he walks away. If I put treats in one of his puzzles, he’s more encouraged to take them too.
Janelle was so kind to send GB a shrimp fund (GB loves seafood, especially shrimp), so I went out and bought some big shrimp. Since it’s wet, I wasn’t sure if he’d go for it, but I was ecstatic when he took a few bites.
