Описание: According to the legend, a house was being fumigated with 11 bug bombs, each covering about 100 ft², causing a heavy gas buildup that eventually ignited and blew the house apart. To test this, the MythBusters first built a small model house. They released gas inside and purchased four different spark sources to trigger ignition. The miniature house was wired and an aerosol can placed inside; when a faulty wire produced a spark, the gas ignited and the roof blew off in a small explosion. Next, the team ran a full-scale test in an abandoned house, sealing off an area of roughly 500 ft². They released ten times the recommended dose of pesticide gas and activated all four spark sources simultaneously; only the furnace spark ignited the gas, causing an explosion. While the blast supported the myth, it was not as catastrophic as claimed. A later test produced a larger fireball, but the structure still remained. In the end, the team concluded that bug bombs can indeed cause an explosion if massively misused, but the destruction is not nearly as apocalyptic as the stories suggest.
