Police commandoes with guns surrounded the World-famous Ajmer Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti as police personnel with metal detectors searched inside for bombs. The Dargah was evacuated on Monday morning following a threat made to the local police over the phone about blowing up the shrine of 13th century Sufi saint.
About 2 lakh people had gathered at the Dargah today because of the monthly Chhatti Sharif observation.
The police after receiving the call in the morning immediately evacuated the people and searched the premises. They were able to quickly search and declare the area bomb-free so that activities of Chatti Sharif could go on without much delay.
Talking to the media Vikas Kumar, Superintendent of Police said that they have tracked the caller and he would be arrested soon.
