Описание: Growing Japanese Maple trees from seeds is a rewarding process that allows you to enjoy the beauty of these trees from their very beginning. Collect mature seeds in the fall, once the samaras (winged seeds) turn brown and begin to dry. Next, fill in a well-draining container filled with a few inches of fine pine bark or other will draining medium. Spread the Japanese Maple seeds on top of the growing medium and then lightly covered them with the same growing medium. Place the container outside in a sheltered location for the winter so the seeds experience natural cold temperatures and moisture. This outdoor stratification mimics nature’s process and helps the seeds break dormancy. I also cover my containers with chicken wire to help keep squirrels and other animals from eating and digging up my seeds. In spring, as temperatures warm, the seeds will begin to germinate. Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged, and protect the young seedlings from harsh sun and wind. Each seedling will develop its own unique leaf shape and color, making growing Japanese Maples from seed a fun and unpredictable adventure.
