DISCLAIMER: The opinions expressed in the video are those of an independent scholar. The research about Tibetan monastery locations was not within the scope of the CHGIS project, which consists of a chronological time series of administrative units in the Chinese dynasties. The sources for the CHGIS project were classical Chinese texts, primarily gazetteers, compiled by the Center for Historical Geography of Fudan University. The CHGIS project was active from 2001 to 2010, and the databases may be downloaded from the Dataverse Archive at Harvard University.
