'US' Festival concert promoter, Bill Graham, was a perfectionist who's management style sometimes rubbed people the wrong way. In the end, these tactics usually paid off with concert goers having a safe and memorable experience.

"Bill always took great pride in everything he did. Whether it was the Fillmoore, the Winterland or the east or the west Fillmoore, you could see him before the show with his watches and clipboard and everything making sure the chairs were right and everything. He was saloon keeper, he was a proprietor at the beginning, that's what his license says...saloon keeper. So he comes back from taking great pride bringing people into an environment making them feel really great and then sending them home safe. So he was like a warrior promoter...and he really cared. He would sit up at night and dream this stuff! It wasn't like he just went to work and punched a clock. Bill was driven." Mickey Hart, 2012
