Final episode of a landmark TV mini-series first aired nationally in 1988 on Channel Four. This Docu-Drama tells the story of the Ulster-Scots, the Presbyterian pioneers from Scotland that settled the dangerous frontiers of Ulster, and then later many of whom journeyed to the wild frontiers of colonial America to help shape a new nation.
This final episode concentrates on the Ulster-Scots political & religious strife in Ireland. In the late 1700's political tensions rose in Ulster during the American war. Revolution was in the air, from the agrarian secret-society militias of the the Steelboys & the Hearts Of Oak, to the Volunteer movements through to the 1798 Rebellion, Ulster-Scots were clashing with the Anglican ruling classes.
