This process focuses only on the glass disc production and does not include the assembly of metal fittings (such as steel caps and pins).
1. Raw Material Preparation
• The main components include quartz sand, soda ash, limestone, feldspar, etc.
• These materials are precisely proportioned to ensure the glass has excellent electrical insulation and mechanical strength.
2. Melting
• The raw materials are heated in a high-temperature furnace (about 1500°C) until they completely melt into a uniform glass liquid.
• The molten glass undergoes degassing and homogenization to remove bubbles and ensure uniformity.
3. Molding
• The molten glass flows into a mold and is shaped using either press molding or centrifugal casting techniques.
4. Annealing
• The glass discs are slowly cooled in an annealing furnace to eliminate internal stress and improve strength and stability.
5. Toughening (Tempering)
• The annealed glass discs undergo rapid cooling, forming high-strength toughened glass.
• This toughening process ensures that if the glass breaks, it shatters into small granular pieces instead of sharp shards, improving safety.
6. Quality Inspection
• The finished glass discs are tested using optical inspection, dimensional measurement, mechanical strength testing, and dielectric strength testing to ensure they meet industry standards.
7. Storage and Transportation
• Approved glass discs are stored in a clean area, ready for assembly into complete glass insulators.
