Calival’s hyper-niche archival selections and dynamic arcs introduce new genres and shift the polarities heard in pop and experimental electronic music. Her DJ sets aim to challenge oppressive social conventions through the distortion of pop motifs, and ironic depictions of mainstream media. Her performances have placed her alongside artists including dj g2g, Sgamo, Obese.dogma777.

calival is the Co-founder, Lead Curator and Director of Flak. Flak is a DIY collective that showcases hyper-niche genres and subcultures to propel the cultivation of experimental dance music and emerging genres by organizing accessible, and inclusive parties without creative compromise.
