Macclesfield Forest & Teggs Nose via Forest Chapel ¦ East Cheshire Hike

Описание: Edit: At the start of the video I mention doing the circuit in a clockwise direction and, as you may notice, I am actually doing it anti-clockwise! I blame digital watches 😂

In this video you can join me in East Cheshire, just on the edge of the Peak District, for a hike around Macclesfield Forest on a beautiful and frosty December day. We take in the charming St. Stephen's forest chapel and a mysterious earthwork of unknown origin, before skirting round through Teggs Nose Country Park and dropping down to Teggs Nose, Bottoms and Ridgegate Reservoirs.
The walk is just under ten miles, and ideally should be started from the free parking adjacent to Ridgegate Reservoir before ascending up through the forest towards Shutlingsloe. In the video I start from Standing Stone car park due to a local road closure, but this does leave you with a fair bit of climbing to finish off the walk!
Most of the paths are excellent and well finished, however the section across the farmland to reach Teggs Nose can be muddy and does have a couple of stiles to negotiate.
