in November 2025, we shared news of our hands-on restoration work at Glenbarr Doocot in Argyll, an 18th century structure that's been hidden in woodland for decades but matters deeply to the local community.
We've now put together a film showing the real hands-on work that goes into community restoration projects such as this; clearing vegetation, moving stones, mixing mortar, stabilising walls, and the people who made it happen.
This SHBT consultancy project brought together traditional skills specialists from LimeRich, Ltd. and Argyll Archaeology, working alongside Glenbarr Community Development Association and local volunteers.
You'll hear from our Project Manager, Angela Thomas, about what this project means, and see local primary school children learning from specialists like Richard Fraser, whose traditional lime-working skills are exactly what Scotland needs more of.
Heritage isn't just grand castles. It's buildings that real communities care about, in landscapes they know, understand and love.
Watch our film below and revisit our feasibility study from almost a year ago today to learn more about the Glenbarr Doocot's history and future (link in the comments below).
Thank you Ally Bhatia at Mambo Video for producing this film for SHBT.
