Learn to play ‘Hit The Road Jack’ on sax for both alto and tenor saxophones. The arrangement also features a 16 bar improvised solo.

The lesson starts with a phrase by phrase walk-through of the tune. Here you will learn about typical jazz ornaments and phrasing that have been used to vary and develop the phrases of Hit The Road Jack.

There is also a breakdown of what scales and melodic devices work well for the improvisation section that you can try in your own solos.

After the walk through there is a full performance of the song with the music notation displayed along with the note names and a close up of my fingers to help you.
