A Whitey's Lindy Hopper Inspired Stops Routine - For Lindy Hop and Swing Dance

When people think of the Stops routine today, they're probably thinking of "First Stops," the routine taught by Sugar and George Sullivan, and the Mama Lou Parks dancers. This is not that routine. If you want to learn THAT routine, learn it from Crystal Johnson, David Butts, Deborah Youngblood, and many other Mama Lou Parks dancers who still teach that routine today.

The original Stops routine, invented by Frankie Manning in the mid 1930s, was the first coordinated Lindy Hop team routine - meaning all couples did the same thing at the same time. However, no one knows what that original routine looked like. Bobby White and I have compiled 4 sources to create this fan fiction of what we imagine that routine might have looked like.
