Join me as I take the Bafang G900 750-watt rear hub motor for a spin with a 60-volt battery to see if the higher voltage is worth it. The main goal is to test the top speed and, more importantly, the motor temperature on a 9-mile, non-stop throttle ride to some local mountain biking trails.
The ride takes an unexpected turn when I run into a massive construction zone, forcing me to navigate through fresh, chunky gravel and dust. After making it through the construction, I test the speed on both a downhill and against a strong headwind, sharing my live impressions of the performance. I'll keep an eye on the motor temperature throughout the ride to see if running a higher voltage causes it to overheat. Stick around to see the final verdict: does a 60V battery give the Bafang G900 a worthwhile boost, or is it all risk for little reward?
