New gov't agency for S. Koreans overseas to be based in Incheon and Seoul

A new government agency providing support for some 7-point-5 million Koreans overseas will be based in the city of Incheon with an administrative service office in central Seoul.
This is according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
The agency, to be launched on June 5th, will carry out policymaking for Koreans overseas.
It will also provide administrative support for citizenship, visas, military service and more --matters that were previously handled by different government bodies.
This follows the parliament's passing in February of a revision to the Government Organization Act, providing the foundation for the establishment of the agency as well as President Yoon Suk Yeol's signing of the bill promulgating the revision in March.
The term overseas Koreans refers to South Korean nationals and people of Korean ethnicity living outside of South Korea.
