My First Time in Chengdu (Not What I Expected) 🇨🇳

Описание: This is my first day on the ground in Chengdu, China, and I wanted to experience the city the way locals do.

I start the day inside People’s Park, one of the most famous parks in the city. I visit a legendary lakeside tea house, order jasmine tea, and pay a little extra for one of Chengdu’s most entertaining traditions a tea master pouring tea behind his back in a full performance.

While drinking tea, I also get a traditional ear cleaning, which is a very Chengdu thing to do and definitely an experience I won’t forget.

Still inside the park, I wander through the marriage market, where parents advertise their children on handwritten posters in hopes of finding a match. Pink signs for women, blue signs for men it’s fascinating, slightly strange, and very uniquely Chinese.

After that, I walk through the city streets and explore two of Chengdu’s most famous alleyways, trying endless free samples along the way before heading into a Sichuan face-changing (mask-changing) opera show, one of the region’s most iconic art forms.

Food is never far away in Chengdu, so next I stop at a local noodle shop to try dan dan noodles, one of the most famous dishes in Sichuan cuisine.

To finish the day, I visit a very famous rabbit head restaurant, sit down with a lovely local woman, share some conversation, and try rabbit head for the first time one of Chengdu’s most notorious local foods.
