Top Five Tips for Making Wax Seals

Описание: 👉🏼 Temperature - First, the sealing wax needs to be at the correct temperature in a low-temp glue gun. You don’t want it to be too thick, but you don’t want it running out of the gun either. If you’re using a spoon, I like to use the wax right when the beads are melted. When you leave the wax heating for too long, it can introduce bubbles and get too runny.

👉🏼 Pour - If the wax is poured in a circular shape, the wax seal will also be a circular shape. I like to rest the gun on its stand and lean it forward slightly to get a nice circular pour. With a spoon, pour close to the parchment paper.

👉🏼 Placement - Placing the wax stamp will determine what kind of lip is formed on the seal. If the stamp is centered, there will be a lip on all sides of the seal. If it’s off-centered, the result will be a raw edge on one side (which can be really pretty too!)

👉🏼 Pressure - As you’re placing the stamp, be sure to add pressure. This will allow the wax to fully go into the stamp impression and therefore give you a good looking wax seal with lots of detail.

👉🏼 Cooling - The last step is letting the seal cool. If the wax is too hot it hasn’t set yet. If it’s too warm, it will peel off the stamp sometimes bending it and changing the shape. It’s best to let it completely cool and the seal will come off the stamp easily.
