In December 2025, an incident in northeast Delhi’s Jafrabad/Chauhan Bangar area shocked residents when at least 41 bullets were fired at two brothers returning home, leaving both dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Police investigations suggested the attack was related to illegal arms trade disputes and gang rivalries, with at least one of the accused recently released from jail and believed to be part of the city’s organised crime scene. The case highlighted how small‑scale disputes in the illegal weapons network can escalate into extreme violence.

Police sources mentioned that one suspect had suspicions involving Mehfooz (alias Bobby Kabootar), an associate of the Hashim Baba gang, which has links to arms distribution and violent crime. Investigations are ongoing to establish wider gang connections and motives behind the deadly shooting
