Moving from a 7 pin to 8 pin drive rim - do you need to adjust the chain length?

Bars from different manufacturers vary - but on this MS660 with either a 25" Oregon, Stihl or Sugihara bar you need to increase the drivelink count from 84 to 85 drive links to allow the bar to fit well.
Also - why do you want a 7-8 drive rim? Make chain go faster yes? I guess if you have a small bar on a large saw it could be worth it [I guess] but on a longer bar you need the torque so unless you really know what you are doing - don't do it. There's no need. It ain't going to cut faster!
