RTI on MPLADS Fund (2024–25)
A Right to Information (RTI) application was filed by a social worker seeking details on how the ₹5 crore allocated to Bimol Akoijam under the MPLADS (Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme) for financial year 2024–25 has been used. The person filing the RTI, Oinam Robart Singh, wants transparency on the utilisation, such as:
• Which projects were approved
• Which works are completed or ongoing
• Copies of work orders, utilisation certificates, and completion reports
• Details of implementing agencies
• Sanctioned amounts and expenditures 
This RTI reflects public interest in transparency and accountability of how MPLADS funds are spent in Manipur, especially considering development challenges in the region.
Honourable MP Bimol AKOIJAM responded “it is a positive step and good to keep accountability in check and I welcome come the move, however on should not use political gimmicks, also it will be more better to put things on check if RTI also put on MLA fund which is of ₹64 Cr of my 33 MLA constituency that fall under me”.
