Did you know a spring tide can rise one metre every 20 minutes? This means it's easy to get caught out by the rising tide, particularly at Seymour and Green Island and on the causeways at Elizabeth Castle and Corbiere Lighthouse.
Before you head out, we suggest you follow some simple rules.
Check the tide times and weather forecast before you set off
Tell someone when you expect to return
Keep an eye on the progress of the tide; it can move faster than you think.
If you get into trouble, find higher ground, dial 999 and ask for Jersey Coastguard, who will send help.
