"When I was hit by the proverbial truck that is ALS, I had to figure out why I believed the gospel. I had to remember how many times the Lord answered my prayers.
"When you read the scriptures, notice how many times you read the word, 'remember.'
"When you fully submit to God's will, it takes time and trust. I don't have some magic formula. Elder Holland said that salvation is not a cheap experience. This is a real thing, following Jesus Christ. It is okay to take some time to process and question things.
"God is patient with us. Please stay close to the covenant path while you are working through your questions. I trusted the people who love me, and I kept the commandments."
