Entirely new types of leadership and learning environments are necessary to ensure graduates leave us college, career and citizen ready for the 21st century.

Todays learners, students and adults alike, now insist their leaders be adept at taking on significantly different roles if they want to continue to lead learning. They must be able to successfully orchestrate fluid, dynamic environments where creativity rules and provide the kinds of classroom and work-related experiences that will guarantee success in a world of social networks, information proliferation and rapid change.

Todays generation of connected, innovative people no longer see leadership not as a fixed role, but rather an occasional act that can come from any direction. The merging of this mindset, increasing numbers of digital natives and new technologies bring our traditional ways of organizing education into question. As result, we are challenged to find ways to provide for learning that is continuous, relevant, adaptive and supported by technology.

As every dimension of this new world continues to evolve so quickly, the educational challenges we face will require solutions that go far beyond the answers we have today. To ensure a better future for our students and community, we must focus our efforts on thinking bigger, learning more and working smarter everyday.
