Transport for Sick Children is a charity based in Greater Manchester.
Our volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to take accompanied children with no other means of transport to hospital and clinic appointments.
We were founded in 1977 by a retired paediatric nurse who was asked to help a family whose child was failing to thrive. As their need for help diminished due to the support they had received, another request for help arose and so the scheme was born.
The charity relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to provide the service. If you can spare a few hours a week, have a caring attitude and your own car we'd love to hear from you!
