The Devilstone Run: A Motorcycle Ride and Camping Trip Across Wyoming

For Four Days and Three Nights, I set out across Wyoming on the DevilStone Run - A Motorcycle Ride that Goes from Devils Tower to Yellowstone National Park (and beyond) through Wyoming’s Scenic Byways and Small Towns.

Day One:
Devil’s Tower: Known as a sacred place by Northern Plains Indians, the Devils Tower is a large geologic feature that can be seen from miles away in eastern Wyoming.
Spotted Horse: With a population of 2, the Spotted Horse community is simply a good ol country bar in the middle of nowhere. Although we didn’t eat here, they’re known to have good burgers.
Sheridan: For the night, we’ll be staying in the hometown of the Go Fast Don’t Die crew and enjoying shenanigans right in front of their shop.

Day Two:
Big Horn Scenic Byway: From Sheridan, we’ll take the 58-mile paved Big Horn Scenic Byway over the Big Horn Mountain Range, and into the basin. This byway provides endless scenic views and is one of my favorite motorcycle rides in Wyoming.
Shell Store: The Shell Store in Shell, Wyoming is a popular motorcycle destination for burgers and freshly made desserts
Cody, Wyoming: A Gateway town to Yellowstone National Park, Cody has plenty to see and do. We’ll be motorcycle camping and heading into town to check out the Silver Dollar Bar for the night.

Day Three:
The Irma Restaurant: The Historic Irma Hotel & Restaurant is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is the breakfast partner on the run for this year.
Buffalo Bill Dam and Reservoir: On the way out of town we’ll stop at the Buffalo Bill Dam, which was once the highest dam in the world
Buffalo Bill Cody Scenic Byway links the town of Cody to the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, where we will take a ride around Lake Yellowstone and head South for the Tetons.
Moran, Wyoming: After enjoying views of the Tetons, we head out to Moran, Wyoming and the Heart Six Ranch for the evening. We’ll be dispersed motorcycle camping in the National Forest.

Day Four:
In the morning, our group heads out and parts ways to head home. I’ll be enjoying a dip in Jenny Lake at Grand Teton National Park before heading off on my next adventure.
