It took me a while to figure out exactly what I wanted to say about this topic. I'm still not sure that I've nailed it. This video stems from my frustrations with trying to avoid comparing myself and my own language learning progress to other people's that I see on youtube or other social media. On one hand, I like short term language challenges because they can give you a massive amount of momentum. On the other hand, without a critical eye, they set some unrealistic expectations.
