[re]collect.2 - The Long Summer

Описание: I called this project that because that's exactly how the past few months have felt like, and that's what I tried to convey here. Staying indoors this long was something I only thought about as a kid, thoughts along the lines of "what if summer lasted a year?" Well what's happening right now feels like that, and with all this time locked indoors, you have more than enough time to recollect your thoughts and look through them.

The first part of this video focuses on looking back at the time before this new normal hit. I asked some friends to tell me their general thoughts about the quarantine and how they feel (I got this idea from VICE), and this is what I got. Regrets, disappointment, and taking everything pre-pandemic for granted.

The second part was actually the video that was supposed to go up on its own. What I planned was originally to just show that the day-to-day for me was repetitive. The moment the idea to ask for thoughts popped up in my head, the direction of the entire video turned from personal into something more.

I started editing this video late March I think, and a lot has happened around the world since then. This was supposed to go up while the ECQ was still in effect, hence the song "I Can't Wait," but I decided to stick with it.

I couldn't have done this video without the support of my friends, especially Domini, Aervin, and Jeanne. Thanks for giving me the push to finish this project because at one point I really thought of just ditching this. Also to the ones who said they were excited to watch my video, it really means the world to me.
