The family of the late Ficksburg community activist, Andries Tatane, is yet to recover from their loss. Tatane died on this day, ten years ago, after being beaten and shot with rubber bullets during a confrontation with the police. He was among about 4 000 protestors who had marched to the Setsoto municipal offices to demand answers regarding poor service delivery in the area. Former SABC journalists, who covered the April 2011 service delivery protests in Ficksburg, say the events of that fateful day will forever be etched in their minds.
