Just 40 minutes from Lisbon is the beautiful and historic town, palace and castle of Sintra. This is definitely one for the bucket list and a great day out.
I visit the Nacional Palace and the town of Sintra before heading up the hill to Vila Sassetti. I walk through the beautiful gardens and am very happy to see an open toilet.
After I finally head up to the Castle and Palace and visit the royal grounds.
