Before going to this island you have to remember that you may not get modern facilities like Cox's Bazar.
And it is better not to keep the lunch plan there, you can arrange the food from Cox's Bazar. Although this island is quite advanced from other islands in the country. These speedboats run from jetty number 6 in Cox's Bazar almost all day to Maheshkhali from Cox's Bazar. So there is no time barrier to go to Maheshkhali. From here we will go to Maheshkhali Island by speed boat. From here to go to Maheshkhali Island by speed boat, the fare will be 100 taka per person. This Maheshkhali island is located about 12 kilometers from Cox's Bazar. You can go to Maheshkhali island in a short time only by speed boat. There are three small islands named Sonadia Matarbari and Dhalghata in this Maheshkhali upazila. If you travel by trawler from Cox's Bazar it will take approximately 40 to 45 minutes.
And if you take a speed boat, you will reach Maheshkhali Island within 20 to 25 minutes. But whatever the distance, you will have an exhilarating experience on the river course. You will end up seeing the beautiful natural beauty of Dulani and the surroundings with the high waves 20 minutes by speed boa. If you go a little further through the middle of the forest, you have to cross the Maheshkhali jetty, basically the Bakkhali river and the estuary of the Bay of Bengal to come to Maheshkhali Island. We have now come to Maheshkhali Jetty Ghat. We hire an auto rickshaw from the jetty of Maheshkhali Island a little further through this bridge. We started the journey by autorickshaw to see the sights of Maheshkhali Island. You will be impressed by the mangrove forest like Sundarban on both sides of this jetty bridge. Maheshkhali Island does not have any significant sightseeing spots but there are several hills scattered around the island. The main occupations of most of the people of this island are salt farming, betel nut farming and fishing. Especially betel cultivation is the traditional profession here. The delicious paan here has earned quite a reputation.
A lot of dried fish are also available here during the dry season.
After seeing the natural environment around this island, I reached the shooting bridge or Adinath which is at the ghat. On both sides of this bridge you will see mangrove forest like Sundarban. In this forest, you will see like Sundarbans, Keora tree, Golpata tree, Rusty pine tree, White pine tree are notable. These coastal forests act as branches to protect the lives of people and animals living in coastal areas. After visiting Maheshkhali Island, we are going back to Cox's Bazar.
