Game got updated with a new Ultra difficulty and some extra challenge parameters.
So this is beating the new Ultra difficulty without dying and bombing.
They released this Ultra fairly quickly after the initial launch of the game. Which tells me this is mostly just some parameters quickly adjusted and not like a total redesign of the game. And this is mostly true, not too many exciting changes besides "more bullet". The only changes that really stand out are the stage 3 turrets firing 3-way's and the stage 6 survival adding these constricting rings now, which really adds to the complexity of how you approach that pattern.
While not as in-depth of a change as say, the fan-made Ultra patch for FDFII, it still works enough to elevate the patterns to a proper Lunatic difficulty, which was something the original game sorely lacked.
Resources on the other hand are still a bit of a clown show, like they just threw their hands in the air and just gave you some sliders to adjust in a 'we can't figure it out, you figure it out' kind of way. Instead of a satisfying set of curated rules, you have to make the rules yourself.
Not that these sliders really matter much for this specific kind of challenge run.
The biggest change you can probably make is the ability to disable hypers altogether, but I'm not the biggest fan of just removing major mechanics entirely.
That said, this is probably still on the lower spectrum of your standard Lunatic difficulty.
Most things are pretty consistent with some practice and there are not too many bottlenecks to really speak off. The difficulty mostly comes from the length of the game.
You get some leeway with the hypers as well, as getting hit during a hyper gives you a free safety hit.
The challenge is then to make sure you have a hyper ready for all the challenging bits in the run.
They drastically decreased the HP on the final spell after this update, which is probably for the best since it used to last quite long.

The team that originally set the standard for the insane production values of Chinese Touhou fangames is back after 6 years. After doing their remakes of Touhou 6 and 7, they're now doing their remake of Touhou 8: Imperishable Night.
Amongst the many competition that has since arisen, these guys still continue to thrive and innovate in making these games even crazier than ever before. Beautiful graphics and atmosphere, with many original set pieces and endless variation. Tons of unique enemies and bullet sprites along the way. Making the games have true arcade production value. The music is also a big improvement over the previous games in my opinion, how much it syncs up with the fights is also really cool.
Since this is based on Imperishable Night, some elements of that game can be found here.
The familiar system is mostly the same and you can see many similar locations and characters, though they're not afraid to add their own flair to things.
They changed a bunch of systems since the old demo from 7 months ago.
You can now switch between two shottypes on the fly and they removed the silly overload mechanic where you lost control of your character if you stacked too many borders.
