The Palestinian Amin Khudairat stood joyfully in front of his sheep, with a wide smile on his face, after he returned with his sheep to his village of Zanuta, south of Hebron in the West Bank, after a forced displacement that lasted 10 months, as a result of attacks by settlers and Israeli occupation soldiers.
The joy was not limited to Khudairat, as he saw that his herd shared his joy at returning to thousands of grazing dunams in the village and its surroundings.
Palestinian shepherds cannot repel the harm of settlers armed and supported by the Israeli army. All they can do is gather together to limit attacks by strangers and prevent them from singling out the shepherds.
