Whacked! was a game developed by Presto Studios that started out life as a cartoony prototype known as "Boing".

Microsoft themselves stepped up to publish the game, seeing it as a good game to show off the new Xbox Live. It eventually transformed from a silly, animaniacs-esque demo into the game that many know and love today.

Unfortunately, Presto Studios closed its doors soon after Whacked!'s release and as a result the soundtrack was never given a proper release.

Seeing as I loved the game and the soundtrack I took it upon myself to contact the composer, Jamey Scott. After telling me all about the game's fascinating development Jamey was kind enough to send me the original, uncompressed masters of the soundtrack as well as the prototypes of the tracks (which likely haven't been heard by anyone outside of Presto Studios before) that were used in the original prototype for the game.

The tracks for the final game are live performances done in Jamey's garage, which he converted into a small production studio. Jamey did the drums, bass, guitars and synths, hired some friends from a ska band he was once in to do brass and hired various other musicians for accordions, theremins and other various instruments.

The tracks for the prototype were made using 3 EMU E4XT samplers and were composed to be cute and orchestral, as opposed to the final game's tracks which were given a lot of edge and attitude.

I hope you enjoy listening to these tracks, I believe Jamey deserves a lot of recognition for his amazing work on this nice little game.
